| Marieke Peeters (1997) works and lives in Den Haag. She creates immersive installations, sculptures and films that combine intensive material research with performance. In her tactile and sensorial installations the visitor is subject to overwhelming amounts of materiality as she facilitates at times uncomfortable experiences of immersion and alienation. Her practice is informed by (body) horror as a genre of fiction and conceptual framework. Within this eerie perspective a soothing calm can be found residing within the dark.
