Noah Arends

My work stems from a fascination for taste, and bad taste and balances between stylish monumental objects and somewhat playful characteristic images. At first glance, my work may seem flat, but if you look closely you will be surprised. The work is layered where you don’t expect it and flat where it appears to have depth.

The work originates from fashion photography as its base material. Images of fashion photography are all around us in daily life. My work interacts with those images, stripping them of commercial character, but retaining their typical aesthetic elements. The original material is reformed into original, autonomous works.
