Yang Ha

Yang-ha (b.1994) collects contradictory images from history or religion, she works to reconstruct images on flat media. After manipulating the landscape of real history, it is solved with thin and temporary words. Her language in her works is lovely, but immature and illogical. This fallacy of looking sarcastically at the society in which we live is a practice and a prayer for a better life.

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Ewha Womans University in 2018, she went on to complete a Master’s degree in Painting from the Frank Mohr Institute in the Netherlands in 2021. Currently, she works between Amsterdam in the Netherlands and Seoul, South Korea. In 2021, she held a solo exhibition titled <Perhaps, It Will Carry On> at H47 in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands, and in 2022, she has been awarded ‘artist start’ by the Mondrian Fund.
