Arash Fakhim
Arash Fakhim 17-11-1987 born in Tehran, Iran lives and works in the Netherlands.
Fakhim is interested in the medium of painting, through atypical materials and methods, at the same time he is also concerned with the spatial tendencies of the medium. A recurring theme in his practice is the will to clash with the imposed rules of the painting. He is inspired by the unintentional poetry of his immediate environment. These findings are interpreted and materialized by composing actions and objects, in which everything is used in a process-oriented manner in order to arrive at visual expressions. At the moment Fakhim’s praxis is divided in two major projects, one of which currently consists out of writing and the second being a commisioned work by the municipality of Arnhem in the public space.
His works are included in both public and private collections such as KPMG, Akzo Nobel Art Foundation, Frans Oomen & Collectie de Groen. In addition to his own practice, Fakhim is also active as an advisor to the Mondriaan Fund.
